Htb academy reddit HTB’s easy boxes can be harder than OSCP (from what I’ve heard) and the Academy modules and labs have explained things far better than other trainings I’ve done. It quickly ramps up from “Enjoy this free course” to “fuck you, pay me” level though, so if you’re looking for free content keep that in mind. Most people start out on THM then move to HTB or Portswigger (really recommend portswigger for web application pen testing if that's the area you want to move into). I learned a bit of networking from the 2 certs, so I thought an 'Introduction to networking' in HTB academy would be a nice refresher and maybe I could also HTB’s academy content is pretty good. I have done htb academy AD path (powerview, bloodhound, AD). Bonus is that you need to complete HTB Academy modules if you want to either of the new HTB Certifications. HTB academy pentest path has a lot of content with a lot of details. People say that OSCP is the best entry point for a pentester but that's not the case anymore. Do the Junior Penetration Testing path on THM, then CBBH or CPTS path on HTB Academy. However I decided to pay for HTB Labs. That way you can use the retired box as they have walkthrough for retired boxes. But if you follow HTB academy and training you can more experience than tryhackme. . HTB Academy is my favorite place to learn because it goes really in depth with the most updated tools and techniques on the topics it covers. The skills assessments can be difficult and there’s not any walkthroughs, so it makes you actually have to figure it out, which really helps with topics that I’ve not had a I'm doing the htb academy right now, I think it would've been to complicated for me if I havn't done thm first. About the student discount in thm you can send them email with files proving you are a student (you can easly find which files) but you will need to do this only after you buy a regular subscription and they will return you the extra you paid and will start charging the student amount. I’d like answers from people who know the difference They are both free and paid, however you will get more out of THM on their free modules. TryHackMe is a better place to start though. Tryhackme is easier but HTB is more detailed imo. I haven’t tried TryHackMe outside of Advent of Cyber, so I can’t really give much in the way of comparison there. If you start HTB academy watch ippsec one video at least a day. as long as they keep developing new material with such high standard, I'm willing to support them with subscription. After learning HTB academy for one month do the HTB boxes. Finished A+, finished google cyber cert, and now starting in both THM and HTB academy. The Academy covers a lot of stuff and it's presented in a very approachable way. Especially I would like to combine HTB Academy and HTB. THM is shit. Which modules/skill paths would you learn in HTB-A and combine it with HTB challenges, task machines etc. I've also tackled some easy to medium boxes on HTB. Please do not post any spoilers or big hints. HTB Academy is cumulative on top of the high level of quality. I feel like I learn the most from academy (compared to thm, htb vip, etc). If they did the same thing but for CPTS, imagine taking 2 years to complete four penetration testing certifications from HTB Academy, 2 advanced 2 intermediate.
